Breed little, to breed well.
We never produce more than two litters a year — one of each breed, rarely both at once. This isn't a marketing constraint: it's the only pace that lets us handle every puppy daily, observe temperament without forcing it, and know, at placement time, which family truly suits which puppy.
The Shiba Inu and the Akita Inu aren't breeds you shape through constant stimulation. They're dogs that reveal themselves in stillness — and that stillness is what we try to preserve, from birth.

Health tested before breeding
Our breeding dogs pass the screenings recommended for their breed — hips, patellas, eyes and thyroid — before any litter. Results are handed to you, not summarized.
Temperament respected, not forced
Daily handling from the third day on, gradual and measured exposure — never over-stimulation. A calm Nihon Ken doesn't happen by accident: it's simply never rushed.
Lifelong support
We stay reachable long after you leave — first nights, training, shedding season. And if you can no longer keep your dog, they come back here. Always.

Two native Japanese breeds — two Nihon Ken — that we've known for nine years and wouldn't trade for any other. We don't diversify and we don't crossbreed: every litter is CKC registered, without exception.
The Shiba: small and quick, wary of strangers but wholehearted with their own people. The Akita: large and dignified, naturally protective. Two different temperaments, one shared standard: respect what they are, rather than bend them into what we'd like them to be.

You write to us
Tell us about your household: experience with primitive-type dogs, a fenced yard, other animals. We reply within one to two days, honestly — sometimes to tell you one of our breeds isn't the right fit.
We meet
A kennel visit by appointment, even before a litter is born. You meet the parents and see where the puppies grow up. A breeder who refuses a visit is telling you something.
Reservation and matching
A $500 deposit secures your place on the litter. Puppy-to-family matching happens around week six, based on observed temperament — not arrival order, and not the colour you picked from a photo.
Going home at eight weeks
Your puppy leaves vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, examined by our veterinarian, with CKC papers, a health record, and a blanket that still smells like the litter.
An Akita Inu litter is expected this fall.
